Smoke Odor Removal - Treatment

Ozone generators permanently remove smoke odor resulting from fire damage, cigarette and tobacco smoke.

Cigar and cigarette smoke odor removal is easy with the OdorFree smoke odor eliminator and also in buildings that have suffered fire and/or smoke damage.

 

Ozone is very effective in smoke odor removal because it destroys smoke odors at their source. As the O3 is circulated throughout the room or facility it oxidizes the fumes and smoke residue adhering to surfaces and even gets down into cracks and crevices. The ozone will follow the same path that the smoke took throughout the building, so it removes the smoke smell from soft materials such as carpets, clothing and upholstery.

When a person smokes, they are vaporizing the tar and other tobacco substances inside of the cigarette they are smoking. This smelly vapor sticks to just about everything in the room, and even gets into closets and cabinets. The OdorFree machine will fill up every cubic inch inside a space or facility, oxidizing the odor-causing molecules at their source. Commercial cleaners can use the OdorFree machine in offices, bars, bingo halls, pool halls or smoky restaurants to remove smoke odor and leave a fresh smelling environment for patrons to enjoy the next day.

How to Treat Smoke Odors

Note: The fan on the thermostat for the air conditioner may be turned to the ON setting to circulate the O3 and remove cigarette odor that has built up inside the ductwork and the air conditioner unit itself. For long term treatment it is recommended that one window be kept open about 2 inches to provide a constant source of oxygen for ozone creation.

The Autel 1000 is able to eliminate apartment odors in spaces up to 1,000 square feet, however, this unit only has a 60-Minute Timer. Most spaces require longer treatment times, so an OdorFree model with a 12-Hour Timer is more convenient. This model has a variable ozone output control and a 60-Minute Timer that automatically turns the machine off when the treatment is completed. For deeply entrenched odors, there is also a “Hold” setting for treatment longer than 60 minutes until the machine is turned off manually. Complete with plates and filter for long-term use.
